Also the laziness of the electorate to maintain the status quo gets incumbents re-elected over and over again.
Are you telling me Jim Jordan and Maxine Waters are the best their districts can offer.
Say it ain’t so.

The United States is fundamentally a CONFUSED country.
What’s not to like about Jim Jordan? I have agreed with pretty much all of his votes.
Both my examples are bombastic.
Allan
True. But I don’t vote personality. I vote policy. Jordan’s political opinions are spot on.

The United States is fundamentally a _____ country.
Free
Free in the context of the necessity of having a government in a modern world. People can bitch and moan about fascism or socialism/communism all day long, but the bottom line is, I do pretty much whatever the ■■■■ I want to in this country and I love it. Sure we have a lot of stupid laws, stupid ass politicians etc., but as long as I’m not hurting other people, I seem to more or less stay out of trouble.
It’s a pretty great country where you can do pretty much whatever the ■■■■ you want to do.
You should definitely travel more.
I’ve been to every state in the country doing whatever the ■■■■ I want, there is plenty to see here. Lots of Caribbean islands too.
I wasn’t referring to domestic travel. Can you build a deck in your back yard without a permit mr free?
I know what you were talking about. I also know about the myriad restrictions like building permits etc. property taxes, gun permits and a thousand other things. Doesn’t change what I said.
And all your data sitting on an NSA server somewhere?

Can you?
Exactly as I said, pretty much. If you could do ANYTHING you wanted to, you’d have anarchy. I don’t want anarchy.

That really does not apply to everyone.
Unfortunately, you are correct.

And you will pretty much be breaking a law, rule or regulation when you do.
What you believe is betterment is not what everyone believes is betterment.

That’s bad. They have yet to restrict my actions though.

The tools have been there since the founding.
You are kidding yourself if you think it is even remotely comparable.

Of course it’s not the same.
To paraphrase a certain founder, “You have a republic gentlemen, if you can keep it.”

Point being, if freedom falls now, getting it back will be impossible because of technology. Our government possesses a clear road map of every personal, business and social group through their collection of metadata. They know who you speak with, where you go, and what social groups you belong to.
