Well I know that, just saying I did not move to the US because I was seeking freedom or wanted a better life. At the time my wife (now ex-wife) who is American wanted to live here for a few years and the rest is history.
The lack of any official figures on the numbers of people who were actually involved in violent protests is a dog not barking. A likely explanation is that the number of hooligans involved in the violence is embarrassingly small, and it would be obvious that the government’s crackdown is a massive overreaction.
Perhaps the government’s actions were a pre-emptive strike against protests and civil unrest as the dimensions of a looming financial crisis become apparent to the general public. Pensioners can expect a visit by police if they start protesting about the lack of heat:
Alex Krainer recently noted evidence that the financial problems of the UK government are far deeper than is generally acknowledged in the media. A stagnant economy combined with the recent default of the Ukrainian government may be creating serious financial problems in London:
If the crackdown is being deliberately orchestrated and I believe that it is, then what is the reason for it? . . . Britain might be facing an imminent financial crisis which could accelerate her economic and social collapse . . .
. . . Britain has also guaranteed multiple tranches of World Bank loans to Ukraine and many British financial institutions have purchased billions’ worth of Ukraine’s bonds. Others made extensive direct investments there. The coming collapse of Britain
Freezing pensioners may just be the beginning for unpopular austerity measures.
It is clear that Starmer dearly wants a hot war with Russia, and financial considerations appear to be the driving force.
The fact that the UK may itself go into default as a result of Ukrainian defaults may be a big factor in the war hysteria in London. War powers to confiscate Russian government assets may be the only clear way that London can avoid default or a humiliating bailout from Washington.
The domino theory may be more than just a theory in this case . . .
Millionaires are fleeing the UK, and London gold reserves reportedly are leaving for New York. Is the UK on the edge of severe financial crisis?
UK’s history of bitter never-Trump policies includes a leading role in creating the Russia-collusion hoax and sending 100 Labour Party operatives in support of the Harris campaign. Trump is unlikely to rush to save the current authoritarian elite that dominates both the Labour and Conservative Parties.
What kind of changes would Trump demand if the UK looks to Washington for a bailout?
At least the UK has some patriots–but they are in jail for accusing the establishment of creating a dystopian factory of Clockwork Depressives, rapists and deviants. Or. conservatives forced to step aside out of fear of reprisals.
