The second longest Article III vacancy (and longest District Court vacancy) in United States history is on the verge of being filled

Isn’t that when democrats started their filibuster of pretty much everyone Bush put forth?

No, I’m pretty sure it was when Obama failed at almost everything. Let’s go with that.

UPDATE:

Yesterday, the vacancy officially came to an end, with Myers receiving his commission from President Trump.

The final day count was 5093 days or 13 years, 11 months, 11 days.

It stands as the longest district court vacancy in history and stands behind only a seat on the Fourth Circuit which was vacant from July 31, 1994 until August 10, 2010, for a day count of 5855 days or 16 years, 11 days.

The longest current vacancy is a seat on the Central District of California that has been vacant since August 1, 2014, for a day count of 1959 days or 5 years, 4 months, 11 days.
