We wonā€™t know for a while how durable immunity (natural or vaccine) to SARS-CoV-2 is. We can look at other coronaviruses, including SARS-CoV-1 to get an idea.

Reinfection by SARS-CoV-2 under endemic conditions would likely occur between 3 and 63 months after peak antibody response, with a median of 16 months. This protection is of less than half the duration revealed for the endemic coronaviruses circulating among humans.

So, typical duration of immunity before 50% will be reinfected is estimated to be 16 months.

donā€™t have to rationalize anything, lancet is garbage and has published one garbage study after another throughout the pandemic. thereā€™s a reason the authors go to lancet

Fun fact. They put out a vaccine for Lyme disease years ago. Itā€™s no longer on the market because people wouldnā€™t take it. You can still get it though, for your dog.

While I agree about the first part not sure on second part. It goes to show eventually people have had enough. It has been the classic Charlie Brown, Luci football and they are tired of it.
