Well, what does one do if their pro-life position is deeply unpopular amongst most of the electorate, even in red states ? You can keep doing you and risk getting completely shut out of elections and consequently, any power, you can argue your position and hope people see it your way (unlikely), or you can moderate/downplay your position and have a better chance at competing and winning.
That’s what I predicted in the Kansas thread. This society is not ready to accept the full humanity of the unborn, in spite of the science of embryology. And most certainly, far too many people are willing to allow the tug of emotional arguments to trump principles. And because of that, no ban will succeed or survive for long without exceptions to the common poster-child arguments abortion advocates like to parade in every abortion discussion. Politicians that stubbornly stick with all or nothing doom their efforts to result in nothing.
If a modern definition of fascism is “an authoritarian merger of corporate and government interests”, then the EU government fits the definition.
In real life, “fascist” tends to take on the meaning of “someone I don’t like politically”. In the 1920s and 30s, the German Antifa classified anyone they disagreed with as “fascists”. Antifa regularly allied with the National Socialists against centrist parties that supported a parliamentary, democratic government.
While not a feminist or pro “choice” except in cases where a pregnancy or birth defect are not survivable, some of this woman’s ideas and behaviors are disturbing:
Making a video of a rape—even with the woman’s image blurred—to make a point? Particularly against immigrants? Really?!?!?!
A majority of the Italian electorate picked her & her party. Let them deal with her
Here she is shouting (and in kind of an irritating manner)
1.) Railing against a UN Immigration compact that would require Italy, a nation very close to poor N African countries, to open its borders
and
2.) Verbally attaching it (the UN immigration compact) to some international conspiracy of speculators, and she names George Soros.
Right wing view of immigration? Sure I’ll take that label
. . . But to “rightist” Giorgia Meloni, problems are never the fault of government nor liberals nor leftists nor socialists. Problems are always caused by capitalism, free markets, stock markets, corporations and rich people.
The apparent solution is always more lefty economic policies.
But its not fascist is it. The fact they can voice their opinion and not vanish in the middle of night proves the United States is the furthest thing from a fascist state.
Becasue she couples her pro god family and country views with a conspiracy by inestors speculators capitlists corporations etc..
It’s one thing to say “There are only two genders.”
It’s anoht thing to say “The people who want you to believe there are more tha two genders are part of an vst right wing conspiracy. We ned more government control of industry and more left wing economic policiesto counter that secret conspiracy.”
