It’s probably not real racism if it happens to every race.

 Then how are you going to prove your accusation?

Which are made of up people. People write policy. People create culture. Often culture is in line with policy… sometimes it isn’t.

You can have a policy of “don’t be racist” and still have racism in your institution. Without enforcement (in line with your policy) racism can persist contrary to your policy (written and enforced by humans)

Sure, sure. Show the policy.

Here’s a little article listing a few “examples” of “structural racism”.

Without looking I can bet that this institution has a policy of non discrimination.

The better question is, how is it being enforced? Are people held accountable if they go against that policy?

Another good example of this is Uber. They had an entire DE&I policy and yet their org ran rampant with sexual misconduct and discrimination. Their CEO was even complicit. Having a policy is meaningless unless it’s enforced.

I can too.

Vigorously.

What happened to the CEO?

And $4.4M in settlements.

Earlier in this thread, @WuWei asked how racist policies effected white folks as well… as POC.

I had mentioned the community swimming pool situation in the OP, how poorer white families also were denied an opportunity to enjoy cooling off and playing in a community pool when communities chose to close those pools, rather than allow black families allowed to use the pools after jim Crow laws were struck down.

All of those poll tests and poll taxes during Jim Crow, effected poor, under educated whites as well…their vote was also stolen from them.

When Reagan attacked welfare, and used the urban welfare queen myth to push to cut benefits…that also effected poorer white families…in fact, by sheer numbers, it effected them more.

Here is an example of system racism, more recent. The methods banks used on POC, was eventually used on white people as well, when the programs that were pushed were very profitable for the banks. Note, the majority of these loans were not for new home purchases, they were refi’s. Many people never recovered from that…still today.
And many of those people, are not POC.

If it affected all races based on wealth, it wasn’t racist, now was it?

It was targeted at POC. Poorer, uneducated white folks were negatively effected by those racist actions.

Any comment on the community pool scenario?

Amazing contortions there.

Only anecdotal, I learned to swim in a segregated pool. Poor white folks didn’t have a lot of time to hang out at the pool. Most of us went to the river or swam in canals anyway. Town was too far.

Thousands of pools were closed because of desegregation. That’s not anecdotal.

Yes, they were. I never heard it was because of poor whites.

I think the point was that poor whites were greatly affected.

I’d like to see evidence poor whites went to those pools when they were open.

Have a good day.

Whatchoogot?

Show it.

It’s just my opinion. It’s not factual. How can it be?

Your opinion differs.
