House Budget Chairman John Yarmuth has officially asked the Congressional Budget Office to estimate the total cost of a new, “single payer healthcare” program throughout the United States; signaling the Democratic Party’s renewed push for the massive federal entitlement.

“Members of Congress developing proposals seeking to establish a single-payer system will face many important decisions that could have major implications for federal spending, national healthcare spending, and access to care,” said Yarmuth in a letter submitted to the CBO.
