No argument.

Well, there you have it…

Apparently.

I’ve been reading comments from parents who let their mid-range children watch the debates and wish they hadn’t…it was such a bad example on how an adult should behave…from the so-called President of the United States.

Yes. I see Biden as wanting a normal debate. Trump doesn’t

Here’s a mistaken concept about accountability - that a person can be “held accountable” by someone else.

One holds one’s self accountable, it has to come from inside. It’s basically taking ownership of the process.

“Holding accountable” is actually holding responsible for another’s performance. That’s why being able to fire somebody is so important.

You can’t give somebody responsibility without authority, then try to “hold them accountable”.

Of course in politics, we throw all that out the window.

Remember in 1992 when the conservatives’ slogan was that character mattered?

You’d think that would be self-explanatory…in America.

Too bad for Biden. Trump isn’t “normal”. You debate the enemy, not who you want to debate.

Hillary Clinton was “honorable”?

Which is why I said I don’t think Trump will agree. I also don’t think it will serve him any better in the 2nd debate than it did last night.

C’mon man. It was a throwaway joke.

Spoilers. It didnt.

Jokes are only jokes when they are funny and rarely when they have to be explained.

It kinda did. He baited Biden into either getting peevish, or allowing Trump to set the terms.

And who exactly did this ingratiate to Trump? Moderates? Undecided voters? Clearly his base wants him to act like a troll, but … who else saw his behavior last night and thought, “Yep, that’s the person I want as President.”

It’s not designed to ingratiate him with undecideds. It’s designed to make those people wonder whether Biden is as weak or senile as Republicans are painting him to be.

You’re right. A lot of people walked away from last night feeling sympathy for Joe after Trump made him look weak and ineffective. Good luck getting people to vote for weak and ineffective.

It clearly didn’t do that.

I don’t think that happened either. Very little conversation today is about Biden’s performance. Which was fine, if not forgettable. It’s all about Trump being a bully during the debate. If Trump wanted to make Biden look weak and ineffective, he failed. Horribly.
