My grandparents hated Catholics. Fine with everyone else and didn’t have a racist bone in their bodies. But boy did they dislike the Catholic Church.

When I was around 15, I was seeing some German girl. We weren’t doing anything. We were just kids. She told me how the Spanish were trash. She didn’t know I was half Spanish/Italian. I was milk white. She came over my house hearing everyone speaking Spanish, that was awkward. But I found it funny at the time.

Hell I’ve been friends with racists. And I’m black.

My best friend in my teenage years was your stereotypical southern redneck racist. We had a mutual passion in cars and met at an after school truck meet. I was the only black dude he respected and he told me that. I never had an issue with him.

I wouldn’t either. But I don’t think Trump is an actual racist. He’s unsophisticated about race, but that doesn’t make someone a racist. I’d argue most people are like that.

Trump might have a lot of undesirable behaviors, and his character is questionable. He is a self-centered ego maniac and a narcissist. He might be many things, but I don’t believe he is a racist or a misogynist.

When you already dislike someone, it’s a lot easier to label them a racist. It further supports their reason for disliking that person. That’s the only reason I can think of why that label is tossed around so often.

Everyone stereotypes in some ways regardless of whether they admit it or not. It’s a human trait.

Although I try to use multiple data sets when I knowingly profile. Race alone won’t do it. But if it’s black guy my age dressed like a gangbanger I’m profiling the hell out of him and watching him closely.

Same goes for white dudes dressed like skin heads.
