And police state were your words. Dealing with lawlessness by stepping up law enforcement does not make it a police state.

Expanding local police powers to deal with federal immigration is by definition an expansion of the police state.

Federalizing the national guard to patrol cities is by definition an expansion of the police state.

Expanding what ia allowable under qualified immunity is an expansion of the police state.

It is sad that you refuse to see it.

One cannot expand something that doesn’t exist.

What does that mean?

What is worse is the inconsistency and ignoring enforcement by Democrat leaders.

Immigration must be legal and by merit.

Follow the law.

There is no police state to expand. Enforcement of law is not the definition of a police state.

Expanding the police state is the worst way to deal with immigration.

There are already problems now.

Two local cops in Ohio who were deputized into Federal Task forces… one the DEA and the other the ATF got drunk at a bar and forcefully detained a US citizen on the basis that he had a funny accent.

Federal agents accused of illegally detaining man at Hinckley bar | wkyc.com

These guys had zero authority to enforce immigration. They weren’t even on duty.

Yet they violated the rights of a US citizen.

Expanding immigration enforcement to local authorities coupled with an willingness to expand what is allowable under qualified immunity guarantees that in the zeal to do a mass deportation that the result will be more Citizens having their rights violated… not less.

That is the end result of any scheme that expands the police state.

Oh come on.

You have to be kidding.

Do you not know the definition of ā€œPolice Stateā€?

It is the State’s way that enforcement of the law is done without violating rights that is my concern.

Yeah.

I lived in one.

NYC.

Then as he says … follow the law. And if you’re from another country and want to come here, that includes you too.

Mmmmmm

When say like in 2004 when the NYPD set up channels to funnel people into a kettle and bell situation during the RNC convention and did an enormous mass arrest and then transferred all of those people… not charged with a crime mind you… to a bus depot on a pier on the West Side and held them for 16 hours without adequate access to bathrooms. They did this to hundreds of people.

We are almost at the 20 year anniversary of this event.

So a violation of rights by the police or nah?
