I’m not complaining about the system, just pointing out the difference between theory and practice. Idealism doesn’t negate reality.

Good point. Maybe we should take up the slack.

Believe it or not, we all do.

Sorry - i was responding to you thinking you were doug or spider, who I was having this discussion with.

How would you determine the jury pool is biased against Trump?

All Jury pools are biased. As I said, that’s what Prosecutors and Defense Lawyers do … strive to seat a Jury that is biased toward their interests. But to your question … The political majority in every jurisdiction affects the bias of the pool accordingly. In a jurisdiction that voted heavily against Trump, the pool WILL BE biased against Trump. His Defense Lawyers have an uphill battle to get a Jury seated that is NOT biased against him.

Well said. The one thing that most folks forget is that in the majority of states, the jury pool is quite large.
And both sides are offered enough time to complete the process.

The population of the State doesn’t matter that much. The jury pool available for a specific trial is rarely more than 60 people. Those 60 are likely to proportionally share the same biases as are found in the population at large. And even if the Attorneys cannot agree on 12 Jurors from that pool, the Judge will be rue to give them more than a couple of dozen more to choose from. The best that can be hoped for are 12 honest individuals who will do their best to put their biases aside and vote guilty or not guilty solely on the law and on evidence.

Threats are already not legal.

Calling someone engaged in election fraud a thug or criminal is not a threat. It is an opinion. I don’t even have to be manipulative and call it truth…which it is…

This is just more running around in circles and wasting time. The so called gag order is nothing.

But this is nothing new. Attorney’s have to deal with this in every trial - biases against cops, for cops, against POC, for POC, etc…

I was on jury duty about two months ago. They called in a pool of 250 jurors to seat 18. The case was a high profile double homicide. And they nearly went through all of them. Somehow, my number never got called. Was one of about 25 of the last people. four days of watching people get called out of the gallery, into chambers and either sat or sent home. Then half a day of attorney’s sending people home for their own reasons, and the process starting over for that empty seat.

The process will work fine for trump - assuming he has competent lawyers.

I was once in the jury pool for a mob trial… the jury pool for that was hundreds of people.

Last jury pool I was on my number was 1025. Time before that it was in 300’s

Sydney Powell is pleading guilty.

So…. That’s fun.

Has anyone in trump’s orbit ever escaped unscathed? I can’t think of one.

Uh oh. That’s bad for Trump, right? I wonder if we will also hear from Chesebro today.

Last I heard, he decided on a trial, but today, with Powell’s plea, he may change his mind.

Wilbur Ross was able to be Secretary of Commerce while secretly having an international shipping interest with a close Putin ally.

I wonder how many more will fold before their trials?
