The conservative judge who just lost here, by a lot. He also lost last time he ran for the Court. WisGOP don’t want another 2 time loser candidate on their hands. That’s what they see in trump and I’m laughing so hard at how desperately and openly they are advocating against him.

Wisconsin was one of the key states that gave Trump his EC win in 2016. And it was one of the states that the Biden campaign targeted to flip in 2020. If the GOP Candidate can not flip Georgia and Pennsylvania than Wisconsin becomes pretty important.

But it was still an important flip. As well as Michigan and Pennsylvania. Those were the three states that Trump won by less than 1%. And they were the three states where the Biden campaign focused a lot of time and money. IMO if Clinton had chosen Sherrod Brown for VP instead of Tim Kaine she would have won those rust belt states and would have been POTUS.

My takeaway is that while Biden beat Trump’s ass in the EC, he barely won the popular vote by 42k in 3 states. The remaining 7 million votes were essentially wasted overvotes.

That’s why I wince when people around here get cocky. We should take nothing for granted.
