Implying someone is sanctimonious basically points out DeSantis has higher personal morals than Trump…which is easy to believe.

In this area, if you support Trump you pretty much have to say you think he is better for the country, not a personal roll model. I’d give up trying to defend that.
Plus, one might throw in he is nearly eighty years old now.

Hmmm- so Trump deleted the post with him with a baseball bat next to DA Bragg. Does even Trump have limits to decency? Or did he realize tyhat this puts him in worse legal jeapordy?

Yes. And with DeSantis, people can have the policy they support without all the other nonsense.

Another excellent reason to choose DeSantis over Trump and Biden.

Gosh- could there be any connection?

Gotta disagree. The man is banning books, suppressing votes, silencing bloggers, prohibiting discussions about race and sexual orientation in schools, passing “Don’t Say Gay” bills. He’s horrible. Just as bad as Trump without the stupid Tweets/Truths and namecalling. A little less awful on the surface, but still awful.

.

Yes thats right they do . But nice job of ignoring my comment.:clap::clap::clap:

For public school children. That’s not banning books, that’s curating a collection. All of the “banned” books are available at your local bookstore.

Makes me sick to think about it. I am a retired teacher. https://pen.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Florida-Book-Ban-Facts.pdf

I don’t agree with all of the book decisions, but the books in question are still available. I encourage all Florida parents who want their kids to read a “banned” book to go to their local bookstore and buy it. Support authors and local bookstores! They’re having fun with it:

Banning 1984 sure is ironic.

Why’d they pick that one?

Who told you that?

Some of the titles mentioned in the list circulating online are included in Florida’s Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.) Standards including ‘1984’, ‘Of Mice and Men’ and ‘Lord of the Flies’ (here), (FCRR Student Center Activities Aligned to Florida’s B.E.S.T. Standards: English Language Arts | Florida Center for Reading Research).
