There seems to be a two fold perception - that traditional media exerts Owellian influence on American citizens and society, and it’s simultaneously a laughable, dying industry that no one pay attention to now that the internet and talk radio provide multiple independent/alternate sources of information that most people now turn to.
If the general public is just now starting to catch on…They are idiots. I stopped watching Fox news and listening to Conservative radio in the middle of OBAMA’s last term because this is all that they did. You’d hear a full quote on local news in the morning…then it would be shortened, or clipped in such a way that it would only be part of what OBAMA said…it was completely disingenuous and fake news. So let’s not get all self righteous about the media doing it to trump. They’ve been doing it for years…You probably had no problem when they did it to OBAMA did you? But now it’s an issue.
