The EU appears to be using the Warsaw Pact as their model.
EU has banned already Russian media. They are moving forward with censorship and bans on US media. The recent events in Romania and France shows that they will ban any opposition that threatens to loosen control from Brussels.
While the EU leadership is authoritarian and shares many cultural views with Marxists, I think “eco-fascists” is a better description of their ideology. Live in a pod and eat bugs while the elites who run things will continue fly in private jets and eat caviar and steak.
The economic policy of the EU is crony capitalism where select transnational corporations own everything. The objective is to make people dependent on the government and huge corporations who do the bidding of the government. Control of the people will be through censorship, surveillance, rigged elections, debanking, threats of imprisonment, etc. Ironically anyone who opposes this Orwellian future is labeled a “fascist” or a Russian agent.
And give it to whom?
Who is better?
That is for European voters to decide in free and fair elections.
It is clear that most people oppose the current immigration policies, but any change in the policy is not negotiable. People who speak out against the policies face arrest and imprisonment. Politicians who question the policies face bans.

They could easily become our enemy then, or an enemy to our allies.
Of course, with 350,000 US troops, armed to the teeth for heavy combat, complete with battle field nucleasr weapons systems stationed there. For 50 years only little skirmishes, then supposedly peace broke out with the end of the Cold War. All that really happenned was a rise of new characters, gripped with over a thousand years of anchient tribal animosity, rising in the vacume left by the Soviet fall. Add in the economic failure of socialist policies leading to the PIIGS split of so called winners and losers in the Euro common market and the attempt by the European Union to assert political control from Brussels over the day to day policies of the member states. What could go wrong?
American Marxism has come to this nation under the guise of the Democrat Political Party, they are the enemy from within and it’s frightening that people still vote for them.
Those were not wars per sey. Just because military forces are involved does not make it a war.
The point is, the incidence of countries invading other countries and borders between them changing as a result has been noticeably absent from the continent since the end of WWII and the economic unification of Europe. Other than the repartitioning of Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia to historic ethnic boundaries and the unification of East and West Germany, the map of Europe today is nearly identical to the map I learned in 7th grade in 1959.
With people being people, politicians being politicians, and governments bring governments, plenty could go wrong. But still, Europe today is far more politically stable than it was before 1950.
Right up until it no longer is.

In fairness, most of the impetus for wars in Europe went away with the fall of the Aristocracy. Kings and Emperors loved wars. Wars brought glory and cemented them (or so they thought) in History … if they won (and they all thought they would.)

Nah. Her punishment was minimal and delayed until all appeals had been exhausted. The only thing that went into effect immediately was the ban on political activity.

I’m saying try to make them wake up. If they stay on their present course, they will be doomed and we won’t be able to stop them. They already have nukes, if the Islamist’s start a califate, which is exactly what they are planning in the UK, and soon will achieve, they will have nukes.
I have little doubt they will pass some off to rogues and Iran, and one day we will wake up to one going off 100 miles up over the center of the US, fired from a ratty barge off our coast, and we will be plunged into the 18th century over night.
The result will be we won’t be able to fix the power grid for 2-3 years, and at the point of the 1st year the chaos and lack of food, water, and services will leave us with 10% of the population left alive, in a miserable existence.
If we can manage to keep some sort of government and military along with our nukes, those left might have a chance to avoid invasion from our enemies.
My point here is we use the threat of leaving them un-protected so they will at least change a little, back to their former principles of freedom. Right now to point out the truth over there you go to jail.
The thugs are taking over, and the left is covering for them in the name of “diversity” and anti-racism. Baloney, truth isn’t racist, and allowing thugs to take over and bully everyone for the sake of some insane, naïve ideal of “diversity” is nuts. Not all “diversity” is good, or wise, any group bent on taking over should be excluded and sent packing.
Everywhere they EVER went, they took over, EVERY SINGLE TIME. Ignoring history isn’t noble, intellectual, or kind, it’s stupid, moronic, evil, naïve, and national suicide.
