Here is a bit of info on FDR’s vision. It clearly talks about building on the principles of Social Security.
We have come to a clear realization of the fact that true individual freedom cannot exist without economic security and independence. “Necessitous men are not free men.”[8] People who are hungry and out of a job are the stuff of which dictatorships are made.
In our day these economic truths have become accepted as self-evident. We have accepted, so to speak, a second Bill of Rights under which a new basis of security and prosperity can be established for all—regardless of station, race, or creed.
Among these are:
Yes, and the first one listed is a right to a job. I am good with all of that revolving around a job. Able body folks should not be just sitting at home collecting. People receiving those types of benefits should still be working. IF it takes the government to create jobs for them then so be it.

The vast majority of folks would prefer to work. There will always be some that will milk the system.
Several on the list , is pretty much in line with AOC…and Sanders.
- The right to earn enough to provide adequate food and clothing and recreation;
Living wage, and guaranteed vacation.
- The [right of every family to a decent home]
Housing assistance
(Right to housing - Wikipedia);
Speaks for itself.
Free college/trade schools
Looks pretty liberal to me…FDR and JFK supported these ideals.
Conservative and liberal follow that ethos. It isn’t owned by either side.
The writer of this article missed one group of the new right.
The white supremacists.
A vocal minority of the new right.

On Earth2, where you reside, that may be true.

There’s a reason today’s right uses “Lib” instead of liberal.
They think of them as different creatures.
In some ways, they are.
In others…not.
There’s been hints of progressivism since the country’s founding.
But today’s right can’t claim the mantle of the Founders unless they believe otherwise.

In your authoritarian world he may be…but not reality.

He most certainly was.
Maybe not as much as his esteemed wife, but FDR was a tried and true lib.

Classic liberalism differs from modern liberalism.
There are many similarities, but the economic aspects have changed due to how global economies work…much different today, than in the 18th century.
Your right about that, some strange polls during the pandemic 30+% wanted to stay inside forever and never have things go back to normal. This is what happens imho when one lives their lives online.

What’s not true. That most people don’t want to work.
I have a huge work ethic and will work until I die or am physically unable to.
Unfortunately most citizens have lost the great American work ethic.

Sure it is…
I understand cons believe humans basically suck, and will try to scam their way to get ahead.
Reality is, most humans are not sociopaths.

Well, you believe taxation and seat belt laws is authoritarian…so your opinion holds very little value, IMO.
