“The correct phrase is “toe the party line,” not “tow the party line”. The idiom means to follow the rules or conform to the established opinions of a group, and the word “toe” refers to placing one’s toes on a starting line, as in a race. “
However, I can understand why people would use “tow” instead. (Never mind that the “E” and “W” keys are right next to each other and it could just be a typo.) Tow. Pull. Drag. Keep it moving. Do the work.
It’s a reasonable usage.
All the same, the common phrase is “toe”. This one was the 3rd one I had seen across multiple discussion platforms. One of them had blown from a petty stubbornness to an internet donnybrook. (Some people will fight about anything.) I just thought I would make the correction here.
In Northern Virginia, where Democrats just had their victory including the person who wanted to kill his opponents children, a jury ruled it was not a crime to solicit the shooting of the President. For the defense, it was testified it is a common practice.
“..,one hand, I would not encourage anyone to post those thoughts on social media," Golbeck said, according to the Washington Post. “On the other hand, I can’t count the number of people who I saw post similar things. . . . It’s a very common sentiment. There’s social media accounts dedicated to tracking whether Trump has died.”
No it’s not and it’s very disturbing how dangerous the Dem Party has become and this “both sides” do it argument is absurd because it that were true, we’d be in armed combat by now.JMO
