The LIAR in Chief

So every day Americans are bombarded with our President’s thoughts, particularly via Twitter, and increasingly they are becoming attacks on anyone he perceives as “enemies”. As it becomes normalized, the less scrutiny his comments receive, and the attacks themselves are aimed at any scrutiny. Over time they seem to just flow into a narrative that his supporters incorporate as truth, and everyone else is too tired to care.

A recent example is his attacks on Google; immediately his supporters latched onto it, even when it became obvious that Trump really did not really understand what a search engine does.

So after a day of push-back, since Google has the voice to do so, he finally followed up with “evidence”; this was essentially another forwarded conspiracy from an random internet source, something he has started to do with increasing frequency:

Now, to his supporters this is the hard evidence they crave, and I am sure most will forever consider this fact. They will ignore threads like this and pretend it is all “fake news”. But the reality is this was just manipulation by our President, and a lie:

And this is occurring on a daily basis, our President appears to be no more informed than a random person on the internet, completely willing to lie to the American people to support his narrative. He does not verify anything and just posts anything that fits his narrative (how about that 52% approval rating!); It is disturbing and getting worse.

The normalization of the President lying to us on a daily basis has to stop, accepting his lies as “Trump being Trump”, calling them jokes, or giving him a pass for using un-vetted sources can’t continue. It’s one thing to have a President who goes off script, uses “locker room talk”, and is unconventional… but lying to the American people can never be acceptable. I am ashamed at how some of my fellow Americans justify this behavior.

If he jingles those keys any harder, one of them is going to fly off and put someone’s eye out.

If and until he gets push back from the Congressional Republican leadership, it will continue.

For Trump supporters Trump is telling/uncovering the truth, no? Hes not really lying.

He has really become unhinged these past few weeks…cant say I blame him when his supporters lap it up like loyal dogs.

When the people around him are willing to insulate him with comments like “truth is not truth” and “alternative facts”, all accountability seems to have been lost.

It was funny when it was a man with a bruised ego lying about crowd size, but now that it has morphed into very divisive and damaging attacks on anyone he perceives (or simply wants to be viewed) as an enemy; it needs to stop.

The detachment from reality really has ratcheted up in recent weeks. The desperation is palpable. And it’s only going to continue to get worse as things continue to collapse around Trump. We haven’t reached peak crazy yet. Not even close.

He’s become more unhinged as the walls continue to close around him. He’s desperately lashing out while simultaneously seeking distractions from investigations and indictments of his inner circle.

Peak crazy will come when one of his family gets indicted or his crooked business dealings are exposed.

Agreed. But we will see a significant jump in crazy should the Democrats take the House and kick off real investigations of the Executive Branch. Even that won’t reach peak though. You’re right.

Yeah, if democrats take one or both houses of Congress, Trump will ratchet it up. It will be just another sign of the walls closing in even more.

Maybe we need to have some kind of doctrine in place. You know, to insure fairness.

It doesn’t stop there. He’s now also now claiming NBC altered their interview with him from 2017 where he said was thinking of the Russia investigation when he fired Comey.

This is getting dangerous.

Yep, because at that point he will step in and actually start firing people, and using his pardon power willfully; obstructing on a whole new level. The narrative will have to be ratcheted up to a level that I think will finally be intolerable, I hope.

No, we need a President who is not permitted and then excused to lie to us.

If reports are to be believed, Trump spends a good bit of his days in a rage, screaming and lashing out. Considering he 72 years old, gets no exercise, eats a poor diet and is considerably overweight; this can’t be good for his health.

The only twitters I see are the ones FOX news or the Pgh Post Gazette shares.

As a communication medium I despise the brevity.

At some point he will have to realize that his deflections and distractions will not work. And it will drive him crazy.

We now have a whole generation raised on the demonstrably false propaganda of Fox news and talkradio. Good luck with straightening this mess out anytime soon.

Like Trump, many of his followers don’t know what actually is to “know” something. They seem to be confused and bewildered as to how to weigh sources and information. They don’t get more weak-minded than these Trump cultists.

Yeah, that ship sailed long ago.
