My position is clear. She didn’t heed warnings before the riots and she didn’t respond during the riots. As far as what may have happened or what may not have happened had she acted is purely speculative. Trump’s actions or inactions are immaterial to this aspect of the discussion. Nothing that he did or didn’t do prevented Pelosi and the Mayor from doing what they could have … should have … done.

Sounds like you are conflating/combining two separate issues. As you said, Trump’s actions or inactions have nothing to do with Pelosi’s role in providing security at that Capitol.

This would mean that when people are discussing Trump’s role on Jan 6, bringing up Pelosi’s role in securing the Capitol is immaterial or just a deflection…

It is dumb to assume that Pelosi signs off on the day to day operations of the Sergeant of Arms of the House, just like McConell doesn’t sign off on the day to day operations of the Sergeant of arms of the Senate.
