The Heck With Civility---This is War

Of all these posters, you I thought most likely to engage the article with intelligence.

Being flip is so low IQ

Happy to disappoint. Since your return from your self imposed exile to the Religious Forums your posts have been utter crap. Up your game, Alfie. At least you were entertaining when you first started here.

Figuratively, just as a debate is war. “Civility” is a reference to normal rules of debate, that syllogism must be valid and sound.

The left doesn’t engage “civilily”, it labels every position it argues against, racist.

That is below the belt “uncivil” “war/debate”

they have no compunction against saying the most egregious accusations against us. No punishment is too severe for the divisiveness they have inflicted upon our good country.

Attention Deranged Democrats, especially those calling for actual war and violence.

This is the author’s point in a nutshell. Democrats no longer argue their case by its merits. They always label opposing viewpoint "racist, sexist, bigoted, homophobic etc etc.

Even when the viewpoint is precisely what Democrats believed just a few years ago. For example:

In 2005, a left-leaning blogger wrote, “Illegal immigration wreaks havoc economically, socially, and culturally; makes a mockery of the rule of law; and is disgraceful just on basic fairness grounds alone.” In 2006, a liberal columnist wrote that “immigration reduces the wages of domestic workers who compete with immigrants” and that “the fiscal burden of low-wage immigrants is also pretty clear.” His conclusion: “We’ll need to reduce the inflow of low-skill immigrants.” That same year, a Democratic senator wrote, “When I see Mexican flags waved at proimmigration demonstrations, I sometimes feel a flush of patriotic resentment. When I’m forced to use a translator to communicate with the guy fixing my car, I feel a certain frustration.”

The blogger was Glenn Greenwald. The columnist was Paul Krugman. The senator was Barack Obama.
How the Democrats Lost Their Way on Immigration - The Atlantic

When these same things are said today, immediately the speaker is labeled nativist etc.

There is no rational discussion, there is only “uncivil take no prisoners war”

So the author suggests the right adopt the tactics of the left.

I personally believe he is wrong about that. That reasoned response to deranged positions will liberate some of those walking in darkness.

Also, lets face facts. The Deranged Democrat party is spirally downward into extremist fringe factions that will war against each other, and never be able to reason with each other on any level.

The same mindlessness they display talking to conservatives, they inflict upon each other.

We conservatives should not allow our sound minds be poisoned with such deranged emotional hate.

Alfie’s trollin’ you, bro.

Just cut a check - $1 every time you use the word “lib”, and you shouldn’t run afoul of any copyright infringement.

Not enough peas in the world to cover that debt.

That was the author’s words, not mine.

I don’t agree.

We should be above them I do agree we should strive to win, not compromise.

But we should win legitimately, with sound reasoning as our weapon of choice.

They have become dependent upon ad hominem. It infects their heart of hearts and I believe they have lost the power to reason. They are deranged.

But that derangement will be manifested upon each other as they begin to splinter into various fringe groups.

This reminds me of that older Clooney film “Out of Sight” where an overweight criminal tries running up a set of stairs, falls down and puts a hole in his own head.

“They said mean things. They shall feel our wrath”

Posting in a troll thread!

That’s a great flick. Tricked me into thinking J all could act. Great book too.

A debate is a discussion, not a “war”.

Why are you righties so hell-bent on making an exchange of ideas into a fight?

Like that little tiny tin thing Roy Moore likes to brandish.lol

I’m responding to a Democrat proposal

Using something similar said on the Right

But I disagree with both.

The brain is like a muscle, if you don’t work out it atrophies. Ad hominen fallacy is like not working out.

Democrats use ad hominem all the time. I don’t believe its a choice now, I think they lost the ability to argue reasons for their positions. They can only attack opposing position, as racist etc.

That makes them weak. It also dooms the left. I see the factions are beginning to splinter. The old guard is trying to hold back the new socialist rise. They will fail. Socialism is too seductive to suppress for long. Everyone wants free stuff.

But in America, the desire for it is only on the coasts. Middle America rejects it solidly. So the left is dooming itself. Unable to talk rationally to convince others of their positions, as they splinter in opposing groups they won’t be able to stop the disintegration of their power.

Yes, but as what?

Why not post in @NebraskaFootball thread and bring up a counter point? Instead you post this as as response to the actual interesting discussion going on in the thread…just sad

TL/DR.

How’s that for civility?

And does anyone yet have info on the outcomes of that civil war the libs started the other day? Lamestream news isn’t even covering it.

He is 100 percent doing nothing but trolling and then ironically enough asking for an intellectual conversation in his wall of texts.
