The Hatred-Merited?

Some numbers.

Texas has been majority Latino since 2022.

Texas has the 2nd largest number of illegals, behind only California. Estmated in 2024 at 1.6M, but that has to be low. Double it. 3.2M.

Texas population is 30,503,301 (2023 census bureau).

Which means an estimated 5% of our population is illegal. That’s a lot. Probably most in the country.

California has 1.9 estmated out of 38.9. Also 5%. Just for comparison.

And what are the results of this travesty? What of the claim of destruction because of illegals?

Texas is ranked #2 in best economy overall, behind only Florida. #2 in growth and #6 in employment. And I am dubious of being behind Florida.
(US News & World Report)
(Florida has an estimated 3% illegal population.)

I think we can all agree that hatred based on economics is unwarranted.

Now is there a difference between our illegals and California’s and Florida’s? Yes, and until Brandon Inc, the difference was even greater.

Texas cannot operate without our Mexican compadres. We can operate without Venezuelans. And we all know deep down we can’t operate without them. I suspect the same is true of Xalifornua.

If the hatred is not economic, where does it come from? Crime? Let’s look.

Over the 10-year period from 2013 to 2022, the homicide conviction rate in Texas for illegal immigrants was 2.2 per 100,000, compared to 3.0 per 100,000 for native-born Americans. The homicide conviction rate for legal immigrants in Texas was 1.2 per 100,000. Illegal immigrants were 26 percent less likely than native-born Americans to be convicted of homicide, and legal immigrants were 61 percent less likely.

Concerning? Sure, any murder is. But merit hatred? It’s not like we haven’t always had high crime.

“Illegal” or “Legal” is a whim from a lawyer hired by the AG. Always has been. When you go to an immigration appointment, if you don’t offer the appropriate amount of ass kissing, you can forget it.

We have gotten into the habit in this country of punishing people (including citizens) for the rest of their lives for some past indiscretion. For labeling them as “bad” forever.

It’s vengeful and petty. And yet those same people will go Sunday morning and sit in the 2nd pew at the church and raise both hands high.

Some a y’all need to look for your hearts, your souls. Trump has them.

These people ain’t hurting y’all. Secure the border, sure. Shore up asylum, sure.

We got no business dragging good people off the streets with bounty hunters and Marines.

Seems to me that the states with the highest number of illegals are kinda leading the way economically.

Let me educate you. But I don’t expect it to sink in. Hatred is an emotion that you have incorrectly assigned to us. You are not qualified to do this. You are basing everything on your lame assumptions. So let me throw a little truth at you and see if anything sticks.

WE WANT OUR BORDERS RESEPECTED. NOBODY IS ABOVE THE LAW. ESPECIALLY FOREIGN NATIONALS. WE DON’T BELIEVE THAT ANY PERSON ON PLANET EARTH SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO STROLL ON IN WHEN EVER THEY FEEL LIKE IT, MAKE THEMSELVES AT HOME AND DEMAND THAT WE PAY THEIR MEDICAL BILLS AND PUT THEM ON PUBLIC ASSISIANCE OR DO ANYTHING ELSE WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION

Respect our borders and our process. We believe that the penalty for ignoring our immigration laws should be: You get sent home. There, that’s all it is. No reason for any stupid assumption or reasons to make up your own story. You’re welcome.

No hatred on my part…I want a secured border and allow them in legally. You ■■■■ up over the border you go, work hard, abide by the rules and be on fast track to become a citizen.

My position hasn’t changed since I arrived on this forum…it;s been my conclusion after working with them for over 40 years.

If there is some paper work to be done…well that’s part of process. Process that some in my family had to do to become citizens.

With hundreds of billions spent on housing them, capturing and released, prisons for one that have committed crimes, government subsidies etc…and now hundreds of billions more to round them up. Just think what that money could have done of organized legally controlled system.

Tough mirror?

I know you don’t hate @conan , the people you caucus with certainly do.

As you can see from the numbers, when you stop spitting on your computer, the states with the highest numbers of illegals are leading the way economically.

Coincidence?

Which state do you live in?

Do you support military aid to Ukraine and/or Israel? Anywhere else?

Exactly! Your pride will never allow you to listen to anything but your dumbassed assumptions. I explained our reasoning in a way that you could grasp. What you do with it is your business.

Which state do you live in? Let’s analyze yours.

It started on June 16th 2015. Trump needed a boogeyman and landed on illegals. In that speech, he accused Mexico of sending rapists to America. Over the last 10 years, the message has evolved to illegals being rapists, murders and drug dealers. He tells his followers they are responsible for the high crime in the country. The CEC amplified the message.

We know the data doesn’t match those claims. Unfortunately, I don’t know how we undo the damage Trump did with that message.

You have to distinguish difference between drug dealers/runners with workers.

Most Mexican workers…and I mean most don’t want anything to do with drugs or the people that is associate with em.

It is a basic issue of following the rules.

Not complicated or controversial until you cheat.

Here is my take, and BTW has been my take since I was old enough to vote (1984). I have absolutely zero issue if someone wished to immigrate to this country, some of my best friends in HS were from Viet Nam as a matter of fact. All I ask is they follow the legal process whataver that may be in their specific circumstances.

If claiming asylum, then you had better be coming from a country that has conditions that warrant an asylum claim, just wanting a better life for yourself or your kids is not a valid asylum claim.

Not all that come in illegally are criminals, some are hard working, otherwise honest people. But coming in abusing rhe asylum process and “jumping the line” on others flowing the process should result in being sent back to the country or origin and made to follow the process.

You first.

Lie. Most of us have been opposed to the illegal invasion our entire lives. Trump happens to support us with this.

I’m not saying it hasn’t always been an issue. There’s no denying Trump dialed up the hate and outrage over it though.
