The false notion that flooding one's nation with poverty will lead to economic prosperity

So good ol’ Chucky is out there crying for amnesty and open borders with the same ■■■■■■■■ argument that many here make that it’s good for the economy.

To be clear on one thing here, what’s happening at the border is NOT about the type of immigration the majority of Conservatives agree on, which is NEEDS/MERIT BASED to fill economic needs. I mean look at the countries so many of the Left admire like Norway, Sweeden, Denmark, etc., heck even Canada and Australia for that matter. Exactly how many of those countries are screaming for all those people at our border to come to their countries? Furthermore, take a look at their immigration policies.

Exactly what is the probability that someone from abject poverty, with little education, no marketable skills and doesn’t speak the language is going to get a job, for one, and one that pays a type of salary in which their tax contribution will outweigh the government benefits they will receive for themselves, and their family, in particularly in a country with a high cost of living?

Could the Left please just stop with this ■■■■■■■■ that flooding the nation with poverty will lead to economic prosperity.

My, my, my how things have changed. Just 13 short years ago he had this to say about illegal immigration…

“People who enter the United States without our permission are illegal aliens and illegal aliens should not be treated the same as people who enter the us legally.”

I wonder what’s changed?

I’m guessing he “evolved”.

Schumer is a hypocritical elitist scumbag. “We need workers” says he.
“We need millions of voters to vote Democrat into perpetuity” is really what’s coming out of his pie hole.

They devolved according to Schumer westerners can’t have children anymore so we need to import them.

Bernie Sanders even went further while running against Hillary he said the flood of illegals was a right wing Koch brothers scheme to flood the US with cheap labor and destroy the working man in a Vox interview.

Someone must have sat him down and gave him the new talking points memo as he has since changed his tune.

Before they got to Bernie

The lack of family structure and the government handout, has already given our country an enormous amount of able bodied , unemployed by choice adults in the country.

We cannot continue down this road.

All that goes out the window when you’re trying to build a new proletariat.

Nailed it! :+1:

I’m with the libertarians on this: if ya got a strong back we can use ya!

We saw the same change in Democrats after the 1960s and LBJ’s epiphany that there’s 200 years of democrat votes in a certain demographic sector.

And even if ya don’t, we’ll still give you lots and lots of free ■■■■ paid for by American workers.

Ah yes, the LBJ “Great Society” aka The creation of a dependent demographic, rewarding immorality and destroying the family unit with generous goobermint handouts. All intended to perpetuate a level of poverty in exchange for votes.
Our father a lifelong middle class blue collar Democrat and WWII Veteran sneered at LBJ calling him on many occasions “that ■■■■■■■ from Texas” then looked at my brothers and I saying: “you boys and your kids will be paying for this Great Society bull ■■■■■■ What did the old man know?

Family structure has changed, due to many factors. In many ways, it is better, in others, not so much.

The Reagan revolution that embraced neo-liberal economic policies has caused far more harm to the family structure than anything else. Most of those policies are still in place.

Many countries have larger, more generous safety nets (handouts) than we do, yet, they do not have the problems we do.

We could give it to the American workers, but y’all pitch a fit every time it’s brought up.

What little red book are you plagiarizing?

Neither is consistent with a strong America.

I agree. As tax cuts.

Can’t magically create demand.

This is an actual real scary problem we are facing. Increasingly more and more of the Americans who are born are to single parent homes and to people who are largely in impoverished conditions, whereas the people who are doing better are increasingly not having children. That’s a scary trajectory.

Exactly! They could give a flying ■■■■ about these people showing up at the border! All they see are future voters! A bunch of uneducated, impoverished, desperate, non-English speaking people, with no attachment to a constitution, who will be dependent upon government their whole lives, who will worship at their feet, and who will reliably vote for more government and for those who promise it.
