The enemy of the people

“It is the press, above all, which wages a positively fanatical and slanderous struggle, tearing down everything which can be regarded as a support of national independence, cultural elevation, and the economic independence of the nation.”

Fancier verbiage than Donald’s but same sentiment.

Its always a quid pro quo. They have as much to gain as we do. Pissing them off has no effect … except in the minds of your media.

Unless you have worked in the intell world, you know nothing about this.

Wouldn’t our say the tariffs, which Trump is 100% responsible for are going out of his way to alienate allies?

And now you added “going out of his way…”

Recall that we were debating this.

Nothing was said in that post of “going out of his way” to alienate. Spending extra effort, that is “going out of his way…” was not what you were so sure about. It was “alienating”, pure and simple. One might end up alienating an ally for some reason that benefits America. If one “goes out of his way” to alienate… then that implies a measure of hostility. Completely different. Why did you feel the need to change the debate?

You are debating like a lib now.

An ally in war but they are not attempting to help our economy. Their policies are to help their own economy, not ours. If ■■■■ hits the fan, we are military allies and that doesn’t change due to business dealings.

We currently have a trade surplus with Canada yet implemented tariffs on them as well.

All I see are negatives in the total column.

You did not understand when Trump explained it back in March. You were too busy guffawing the notion that Canada was going to burn down the white house again (which was exactly what you were told to do by the narrative)

Trump told you that what was important was some special industries that are needed for national security. It was not strictly about a net trade surplus. That was the beginning of the “trade war”. Tarrifs on other things and the countertarrifs was just the fallout of the initial tarrifs to support our national security.

Donald isn’t the first POTUS to attack the press or have an adversarial relationship with them. He is unique, however, in that it’s the major focus of his administration.

The enemy must be fought.

Is the press the enemy of every POTUS, or just Donald? Was Obama justified in criticizing Fox?

The American free press is not our enemy

It is the absolute height of irony for Trump to accuse anyone of being divisive. He thrives on dividing us.

All media or just those who arent pro Trump?

It is our enemy. Libs have turned simple political commentary into a weapon used by the swamp.

Who are our allies? Those you call such are based on what? WWII.

What is one of the reasons the EU was formed?

How’s that swamp draining co.ing along? About a well as the big beautiful wall?

Now you’re debating.

Americans soldiers are not our enemy.

True. But some become our enemies.

Same with the press. When they stop acting in the best interest of America, they become our enemy.

How do we decide what’s in the best interest of America?

What are the objective criteria on which we can all agree?
