Researchers have found just 12 people are responsible for the bulk of the misleading claims and outright lies about COVID-19 vaccines that proliferate on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

“The ‘Disinformation Dozen’ produce 65% of the shares of anti-vaccine misinformation on social media platforms,” said Imran Ahmed, chief executive officer of the Center for Countering Digital Hate, which identified the accounts.

Should anything be done about these folks? Should they be censored? Removed from the platforms?

Or is their free speech protected? Should ISP’s or Social networks be required to carry their messaging?

How do you know they are false? NPR is fake news.

Remember when they told you a capitol hill officer was killed with a fire extinguisher and you believed it for months?

Or for 3 years they lied about Russian collusion…

I believe them to be reliable. Of course mistakes are made, but they are always corrected.

I do not think they intentionally spread disinformation.

Have you ever looked at what the AP is? Who does the writing?

What can be done?
If they are wrong, state why they are wrong.
If these 12 people have been identified, call them out.
Invite them on online shows or broadcast shows and ask them where they came up with their conclusions.
Fight misinformation with truth, not banning.
