The democratic border security lie now fully exposed

Even if there was majority support for eliminating ICE, that wouldn’t make support for said elimination as “being against border control”.

ICE came into being only 15 years ago as part of the Homeland Security Act. We were without ICE for over 200 years of our history.

One could make claims that ICE doesn’t enhance our border security in ways commensurate with its cost.

That’s one way to spin it, certainly.

Closer to the truth would be that congressional Democrats are attempting, in their opinion, to reign in the power of the current administration to detain people. They want everyone included in the total number of people able to be detained, and not just certain groups. This, in my opinion, would make the administration more accountable for who they detain.

There has been a huge turnover in congress. I have not heard much support of ICE since Pelosi took over.

Only polls that are 3 1/2 years old. Any poll relevant to the current attitude of Americans says differently

Border Security is well funded and supported to the tune of billions and billions of dollars, by both parties.

Democrats ran and won the House by running on No Donnie Wall.

Donnie’s Wall is the beginning of a ridiculous financial boondoggle.

Why shouldn’t every single person who entered illegally be detained and processed? Anything less is chaos.

You want to know the stupidest policy that we have? Many illegals violate our borders and customs and it’s no problem. But what if you, a U.S. citizen did the same thing? Imagine that you flew in from over seas and decided to blow through customs? Customs agents would be waiting to arrest you at your house. You would be serving time. Not so for most illegals. They get better treatment than you would ever get.

Still. I have not seen a single democratic idea that increases border security. The lie remains.

Obama presided over a massive ramp up of border security and spending. Nearly all Democrats in Congress have voted to continue expanding funding.

Just because you haven’t seen it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. All you have to do is look.

No question about it. Most republicans are liberals. Based on the fact that they usually vote for liberals to lead them and the conservatives have been forced to form a small caucus.

Taken into custody they were? How is that possible? Did they turn themselves in to the local constabulary? There is currently NO border security, according to conservatives, so something’s fishy about this story.

I agree. But the democrats that changed with the election of Trump. Trump hate supersedes all common sense. The dems have decided that they must be opposed to anything that Trump is for. Including border security.

Improving existing technology, increasing hiring at points of entry and allocating $1.3 billion for new fencing in the Rio Grande Valley and funding to replace secondary fencing in San Diego doesn’t increase security?

Included in the House bill is:

• More than $1.3 billion for new fencing in the Rio Grande Valley and funding to replace secondary fencing in San Diego and other existing pedestrian fencing.

• $366.5 million for border security technology.

• $7.7 million to hire 328 additional U.S. Customs and Border Protection customs officers.

• $224.6 million for “non-intrusive Inspection equipment” at ports of entry.

• $7.08 billion for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement

Not true at all.

Common sense laws and bills will be bipartisan.

It’s amazing how they willfully ignore what’s already on the table and/or been done in order to pretend that the only solution is a monument to Donald Trump.

If they didn’t see it, and posted an unlinked paragraph of opinions on why they feel that Democrats don’t support any border security, then the jig is up.

Improved technology to do what? Be informed when someone sneaks in? Being informed is not border security. New fencing? Why? Aren’t walls are immoral? Why is a fence good in some areas but worthless in others? The current fences are working. Why not expand them and let them work even better? Once we use technology to discover somebody sneaking in, then what? We air drop supplies to them?

They are not serious about border security. Not one bit.

It didn’t change with the election. Democrats have continued to vote for expanding funding for CBP in the last 2 years.

Didn’t you know that?

In 2018, Dems voted for $14 billion for the border patrol and another $1.7 billion for upgrading wall and still a bunch of Republicans will call them open borders. That’s what defies common sense. It’s a bunch of nonsense.

Diminishing return on investment

Still. I have not seen a single democratic idea that increases border security. The lie remains.
