There’s a border in Hartsfield-Jackson where CBP agents are doing this.
100 miles they monitor all transportation in that range.
taking a train from NYC to Niagara fall NY to spend the weekend the CBP will be around asking for your papers even if you don’t cross the border.
Pretty much the CBP can stop anyone within the state of NY and demand proof of citizenship.
They stop buses, trains, etc traveling WITHIN America that have never left America and ask for papers.
They need to be able to search anything and everything coming into the country, I don’t find the idea to even be debatable, but they don’t need to be harassing people they way they did this guy. They are horribly abusing that power and the article is a prime example of just that.

teh border patrol agents should be arrested and jailed. maybe lockign a few up for a decade or 2 would change their behavior

It’s been well over a year since I first heard about it. It’s getting worse and worse on an almost daily basis now however, as the numbers confirm.

The kids in cages, separation of families were all policies during the Obama administration but yet leftist MSM and leftist socialist Democrats spew this crap all the time that it’s all Trump, when it’s all just a load of bull.
I knew these were the guys putting kids in cages, separating refugee children from their parents, and that Trump’s whole shtick is vilifying immigrants, leading to many sad and ugly scenes at the border, including the farcical deployment of U.S. troops.
So you are saying this doesn’t happen at all?
The only conclusion one can reach from that diatribe is that if Obama did something abhorrent, it’s okay for Trump to do the same thing. That is a ■■■■■■ up outlook.
