Besides the legalities, which will be resolved soon enough, this doesn’t make any sense. Is the CDC really saying that people who are in high transmission areas should quit their jobs and stay home? That is the only logic I see here and that is nonsense.
Plus, Pelosi says the Biden administration should take action, and the CDC does take action. Is Biden telling the CDC what decisions to make? I thought we were supposed to be outraged that some Trump appointees may have influenced CDC professionals. This is ok?

Nonsense.
I have friends amongst bankers. They expect it is coming. They think it will be much worse.

Here’s part of a story from CNBC.com from Jun 25. Headline… ‘The eviction moratorium is killing small landlords,’ says one, as ban is extended another month. The author is Dana Olick…
“ The one-month extension of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s eviction moratorium was welcome news for tenants but another nail in the coffin for some struggling landlords…Groups representing landlords had been lobbying hard to end the moratorium and now warn even another month will put some of those landlords out of business…”
The piece goes on to say. “ Each passing month further escalates the risk of losing an ever-increasing amount of rental housing, ultimately jeopardizing the availability of safe, sustainable and affordable housing for all Americans," wrote Bob Pinnegar, CEO of the National Apartment Association, in a release. “Flawed eviction moratoriums leave renters with insurmountable debt and housing providers holding the bag as our nation’s housing affordability crisis spirals into a housing affordability disaster.” …The majority of the nation’s landlords are individual investors. They own about 23 million units in 17 million properties, according to the U.S. Census. More than 6 million renter households are behind on rent, also according to the Census. Landlords have next to no recourse. “
Just when you didn’t think this ■■■■■■■ disaster of a presidency could get worse!

The CDC isn’t saying anything of the sort. They just happen to think turning people out in a pandemic is bad idea.
As to your second point, the CDC is a federal agency, and as such, is under the executive. Pelosi can talk until the cows come home, but without legislation, she can be ignored. Clearly, Redfield thought this was a good idea, and Biden agreed.
I have friends too, and they say your friends are wrong, partisan, or both

One scenario: government puts landlords out of business - not enough rental units available for those needing housing - government says capitalism has failed to provide housing - government funds and builds government owned housing

There’s money available to help them. Obviously I can’t speak to specific situations, but the money is there.
Also note Pinnegar is a lobbyist for landlords. His view may be a bit skewed.
That is already happening at the federal, state, and local level. The Government has been in the housing game for a while now.

There are also 9.2 million jobs available in America.
Pinnegar’s opinion appears to be based on actual data as opposed to an out of control bunch of liberals openly acting in an unconstitutional manner.

I might think it is a good idea (it isn’t) but I don’t have the authority to do it either.
What does a pandemic have to do with it if people are employed during that pandemic and can afford rent.
And yes, there were recently articles complaining about Trump employees “interfering “ in CDC decisions . Now, apparently it’s ok as long as it is Biden employees.
Now go write about how terrible it was that Trump tried to “interfere “ with DoD decisions.

Perhaps. This still isn’t unconstitutional. Not yet anyway. Watch for an emergency appeal, likely filed by the end of the week

Trump interfered with CDC reporting because it was politically damaging. That is a quite different situation then the extension of the moratorium.

This country is based on the idea of contracts…you know I agree to pay you every month for the privilege of living in the house you own…
I agree to pay you back for the student loan I took out…
Yet it seems leftists are more and more eager to destroy that idea.
Do I still have to pay my mortgage? I ll bet the banking industry gave a ton of money to a bunch of left wingers in DC…
The other thing I said a year ago was that lefties would abuse the virus … it was an even better way to grab power than climate change. Have you noticed how it just seems to never be going away?

And you really see this as not interfering because it is something Democrats want politically? Ok. I really can’t even handle that perceived difference.

Yes, there is a difference between the moratorium and trying to bury a politically inconvenient report.

Unfortunately for us both, we will soon see…
Ignoring the Supreme Court to trample on property rights has a long history in the Democratic Party, dating back to their founder Andrew Jackson and the trail of tears:
In 1830, Ross and the Cherokee took the audacious step of trying to retain their lands by filing suit against the state of Georgia. The case eventually went to the U.S. Supreme Court, and Chief Justice John Marshall, while avoiding the central issue, ruled that the states could not assert control over the Indigenous tribes.
According to legend, President Jackson scoffed, saying, “John Marshall has made his decision; now let him enforce it.”
Andrew Jackson, Indian Removal Act, and the Trail of Tears (thoughtco.com)
The CDC rule only applies to evictions by landlords for renters. Property owners are can face eviction for falling behind in taxes and mortgage payments. Government and multinational banks don’t have to live by same rules as small real estate investors.

They don’t have a problem doing that with people coming over the Southern border.

The Supreme Court never said that eviction ban were illegal, they even allowed the first CDC extension.
they said it was the Job of Congress not them to extend it. The Congressional eviction ban ended in 2020 since the it has been under CDC.
Biden is kicking the can down the road for his party.
