They are also very pro-abortion, but I really don’t like the term alt-right because some will randomly group a psycho like Richard Spencer with a right wing person like Ben Shapiro. I have even heard Tucker Carlson labeled alt-right by some media outlets.

That’s the problem, they are at their core basically socialist/fascist. They have nothing in common with Ben or tucker, but the left will use that.

Yes, they are. Some of the most energetic, committed Trump supporters come from the alt.right. He was the alt.right’s chosen candidate in 2016.

I think the Republican-Democrat labels are worthless these days in terms of what people believe. It looks like the real debate is along libertarian and authoritarian lines, and these two ideologies often cross party lines in different forms.
