Texas state senate seat flipped to republican -- after 139 years

do you have any statisics to back up that this means anything beyond a one off? Because you know im going to link to 538 and wipe that out right?

Or can we just admit to what this thread really is?

you better stay off public roads then and never call the cops.

I don’t remember that. Do you have any links?

Watching a debate isn’t a crime. Try again.

the ■■■■■ it was about your socialism quip…I dont a ■■■■ what you watch or dont.

Everytime on the old board I brought up that dems were like 1 for 10 on national elections, It got thrown in my face they were winning winning winning on the state level.

And like I said, I wonder what the polling was before the election since they were ‘stunned’ at the outcome. Doesn’t sound like polling was showing the upset.

Mostly the old board during all the special elections first year and a hal of Trump.

yes yes you are trying to show some sort of trend maybe. Most people know not to trust the polls this time around. Plus you are coming off a massive Red wave since 2010. It happens. Would you like to go back to 2006 and revisit the slaughter you guys where handed? These things happen in cycles. Always will.

You havent really proven anything. Again i asked for stats…You gave me more whining about liberals…

Of course…

Slaugher in 2006? So the red wave has actually been going since then instead of 2010 right? I know 2010 was when the mid terms were so bad for the D’s that Republican’s were saying a wet rag could win agiast bamma’s second term (I cautioned people back then).

Now two years into Trump and D’s are hoping to squeak by and take at least the house.

Well I’d be curious if there is polling for a state senate seat. But the one for ten thing isn’t even accurate. For starters, there were eleven national special elections. Ten were for Republican seats, and one was for a Democratic seat. Dems kept theirs and picked up two of the ten republican seats. So they flipped twenty percent of the held Republican seats and kept their own. But that’s not a very big sampling. But if they flip 20% of the seats Republicans currently hold in the House we’re talking about them losing 47 seats. But in pretty much all of the elections they’re overperforming. But there have been 166 special state elections in 2017 and 2018. Bigger sample. Democrats had a net gain of 17 seats. Republicans lost 24% of the seats they held in special elections. And the Democrats lost 7%. Those are trends.

Is this what a blue wave looks like?

bye-bye

funny . .

and disturbing at the same time

Well no the red wave started in 2010…2008 the dems held on and then lost the house in 2010.

Squeak by…look at you downplaying…how hacky…lol

I do remember seeing a number of those gloating that some local election was a sign of Democrats winning.

…

I’m sure you do.

BTW
First Republican state senator who is Hispanic
Assures supermajority, which is dangling by one, Republicans will be able to pass any law without help of one Democrat.

Maybe they’ll slash taxes so low they won’t be able to pay for anything, like Kansas did, and then find a way to blame Democrats

A local election by itself, or a local election as part of a larger phenomenon that was happening at the time?
