You should click through the website and not just link their attempt to hide behind the pseudoscientific nonsense they wrote to make it sounds nice.

The importance of the design is exactly the issue. Complexity etc. but for an intelligent creator of the universe…. That’s the point. And it’s not science. Making something sound all sciency and stuff doesn’t change the fact that the underlying goal is to teach about God.

It’s very possible these teachers crossed a line and acted inappropriately. It’s also possible the student approached these teachers with questions they didn’t feel comfortable talking with their parents about.

Just as I do not think Cops should be handling mental health crises, I don’t think teachers, however well intended, should be handling adolescent psychologic issues. These are highly vulnerable kids who need expert guidance and advice which should be left to folks who know what they are doing. Otherwise, it is vulnerable to the advocacy of the teacher, whether against or for, and that isn’t in the best interest of the child.

If a kid is feeling pressure, whether it be identity, depression, or anything else a board certified social worker or psychologist should be made available by the school district. And that staff should follow all legally required laws concerning consent and parental involvement.

A kid who is troubled needs professional help, not well intentioned but possibly unqualified help. Parents should be involved given the circumstance, although if it involves incest or other abuse by the parent there should be some consideration there.

Yes…I am biased to children having a happy childhood free of the confusion that so many have in their ill run lives.

The problem with this way of looking at it is the age of the children. A 12 year is already facing issues of gender-identity and sexuality. Gender identity starts to express at a far younger age that 12. One who is already questioning and researching gender issues is in need of guidance, and if the parents are anti-trans as an indisputable matter, then the children need some outlet. As I have read the reports on this particular issue, the two teachers formed an after-school support group and invited kids who they knew had gender questions. It sounds all very sinister that they discovered this one persons gender questioning through monitoring their Google searches, but in fact all internet use within a school is monitored. I have trouble seeing anything wrong with teachers offering a supportive opportunity.

I have a LOT of problems with this!

Monitoring their students?
Undermining parents.
Recruitment into LGBQ.
12 years old being manipulated.
Etc.

No teacher or school should discuss any issue with someone’s child without contacting the parents of that child.
The school is not the parent nor are they mental health counselors. No wonder our children are such a mess today.

I respectfully disagree. There is a role for educators to play in the lives of students that goes beyond teaching. That has been the case for a very long time.

Are there no negative aspects of homosex? Is there no reason to discuss intelligent design.

Health class should be taught in high school. That can discuss the health reppercussions of unprotected homosexual sex, along with the reppercussions of unprotected heterosexual acts. The psychological ramifications can’t be and should not be taught in school though again counseling is proper.

Intelligent design is not science. We teach Greek Mythology in schools, can be taught in the same class.

Question for you. If the child says it is a boy. How is it that you know it’s a girl? And if you say … her parents told you… how do they know? DNA check?
