■■■?
I don’t see anywhere where you said ‘federal’. But jeez, what’s with the insults?

The crux of article in the OP was about billionaires not paying income taxes in some years because they can use perfectly legal and legitimate accounting practices to show no income in those years. When they show income, it gets taxed like anyone else’s.
The common man doesn’t have an income stream or a lifestyle that lends itself to things that Bezos can leverage.
Yeah but they get really over the top searching for free ■■■■■ God forbid they have to sit in coach, even if they were too cheap to purchase a first class seat. God forbid they pay for a dinner, they would rather just eat with some salesperson and foot them the bill, and order an 800 dollar bottle of wine to boot.
We have medical talks all around town, but ONLY in fancy steakhouses and the like, because otherwise you are not going to get a Doctor to attend. And attend they do, like clockwork, several times a week. It has gotten so bad that we are now seeing retired Docs in their eighties making arrangements with the Maitre D’s of all the best spots to notify them when a talk is scheduled, to which they show up all dressed up and ready to dine. This, despite the fact they have been retired for awhile and the talk may have absolutely nothing to do with their practice when they did work.
Some of these retired Dudes do this every night of the week, if possible, Was a lean year for them last year because of COVID, but they are getting their free grub on again.
Which makes it farcical when these same guys bitch about the welfare state and beggars, when that is their greatest source of happiness. Getting free ■■■■■

Here’s a hint: I don’t post with your needs for detailed explanations in mind. I count on people being able to discern context of a thread (and the context of this one is easier than most), and I count on people being able to read. You have a tendency to struggle with context and meaning. In thread after thread. But here in this one, you managed to arrive at what was actually being posted, and I gave you a thumbs up for that. And somehow you consider it an insult.

All hail and give thanks to the plutocracy
I could have sworn I replied to this. Weird…
Anyway… Attorney Generals? American Gladiators? Silver?

In Pittsburgh, we have a sports legend named Franco Harris (he of the Immaculate Reception). He is known by some as “Free Meal Franco” these days as there is nary a banquet or fundraiser where he doesn’t show up to grub as a “special guest.”
I’m on the board for a local group, and we did an auction dinner a couple years ago…one of the prizes? Dinner with Franco! He was already at the auction! Two free meals from one org!
He is basically the greatest American hero besides George Washington, though, so it’s cool. (seriously - PIT airport has two statues that greet arriving passengers - Washington and Franco)

Well yeah… they completely support his causes and funding, so they don’t need to comment on him. No criticism certainly…

I advocate placing a wealth tax on Soros and on all billionaires.
Soros is #56 on the list and I see plenty of richer people that I’ve never heard of… is this because they’re all giving hush money to the left? Forbes 400 2023
Are all those people above him supporting causes favored by the left like him, in the amounts he’s giving?

Jezcoe:
Let’s have a wealth tax
That post screams I want my contribution trophy

Nope… it means that we should tax wealth.
I am not into class envy.
