Maybe we’re not using the same definition of envy. Isn’t it being jealous of someone else having something you don’t have and wanting to have it too or not let them have it? The Democrats aren’t campaigning on making the rich not rich or making the non-rich, rich… so how is it class envy? They just campaign on the idea that the rich should pay more in taxes… not pay so much in taxes they are no longer rich.

Those who strive to be rich and successful look at those who have made it with admiration, not envy. They want to emulate that success not take it away.

Those who believe someone is not entitled to their success are envious because they have something they aren’t entitled to and the envious person doesn’t. They want to take away that person’s success and punish them for having something they aren’t entitled to.

That is exactly what LIB politicians are playing to with their class warfare rhetoric. “The rich aren’t paying their fair share and should be punished with higher taxes so that big government can redistribute that wealth to the working man.”
