Did you notice how all Democrats voted on all three Trump nominees to the Supreme Court? Did that bother you? Do you believe Republicans should somehow have a different standard?
Read what I wrote. I said Biden should not be allowed to turn the court. If he pays attention to the “advice” part of “advice and consent” then he should be allowed to have a nomination considered even if Republicans take the Senate.

based on her deflections and dishonesty trying to make herself sound like a textualist… solid no.

I worry about police and prosecutors gaining (and abusing) more power.

So, is “possession” of child porn against the law? And if there is a statute that prescribed jail time, was the sentencing guidelines applied?

Y’all getting some mileage out of this.

She’s the one who set it up. Don’t t blame others for rolling with it.

I abide by the confirmation standard as it was practiced as a norm from 1789 until the mid 1980’s, when it turned into a clown show.

That means, if a nominee meets the essential qualifications for the office being sought, he or she should be confirmed.

In other words the Senate should defer to the President on the judicial philosophy of the nominee, as it properly did from 1789 to mid-1980’s, nearly 200 years.

Using that standard, I have opposed only a handful of judicial nominees by Biden, Trump and Obama, all on the standard that they were unqualified for office.

The most obvious example being the clown who could not define a basic courtroom term, to wit “in limine.”

I have not opposed any Supreme Court nominees in recent years and won’t do so now, though I DO acknowledge that KBJ’s qualifications are weak. There were much better black female nominees available.

And you think public defenders can do something about that?

You don’t find it strange?

No, I think a public defender might be more inclined to consider cases from a defendant’s perspective.

You ever met a public defender.

No, but I also don’t think KBJ is a run of the mill PD.

Go meet one and let’s talk.

She can’t define “woman”.

Nah, I’m good.

Nope. The question was stupid.

Yet she couldn’t or wouldn’t answer it.

“That’s a stupid question” would have been a better answer.

It was a very stupid question.
