I wont quote the OP as it is far too long, but on the issue of census participation.
Not filling out a question or more than one, at most will result in a maximum fine of $100. Filling out a question falsely is a $500. So any illegals choosing not to answer the citizen question will at worst face a $100 fine, probably not a big deal to them, especially in light of the fact if they are illegal, the government will almost assuredly never collect on it. And would spend 10s of thousands of dollars just to get the Benjamin.
On the other hand they could answer truthfully and federal law forbids the census from sharing that information with any other federal agency including ICE, so even if they did answer truthfully, and the reason i get a sense this is the case, ICE couldnt get that info and use it to raid homes.
Furthermore, those people would still be counted, and that state would still get federal allotments of money based on the count including those illegals.
So i find it amusing that there is this push to include this question on the census when at best it would result in a handful of fines. In other words the citizenship question is nothing more than certain groups trying to pretend it matters. There was a reason it was removed many decades ago.
FYI there hasnt be a presecution as a result of maniuplating the census in nearly 50 years.
