Or else career go bye bye

They is plural.
It can be also used as singular as well when the gender of the subject is unknown.
Example:
“When will the driver be here to pick me up?”
“They will be here at 7:20”
Nah… they’d have a bright future staring in movies about Christianity along side such Hollywood luminaries as Kevin Sorbo and Kirk Cameron.

Yes we know, there are no conservatives in Hollywood because they can’t act. Probably why there are so few minorities on corporate boards as well, just not good at business.
Huh? I never said they couldn’t act.

So you agree, if they show themselves to be conservatives their careers are over.
No. They may get less work, but their careers aren’t over. Also I’m sure depends on the type of conservative you are. I’d imagine there’s less opposition to fiscal/small government conservatives vs bigoted social conservatives.

Right, back to conservatives can’t act. With a most of them deserve it thrown in.
What orifice are you pulling this “can’t act” bit from? You keep implying I said it when I didn’t.

Don’t know what to tell you, why are there so few conservatives in Hollywood then? If it’s not that they can’t act or aren’t interested or being blackballed, what is it?
Because, like most of the arts, those who are into theater and acting tend to lean left. Not being able to act and not being interested in acting aren’t the same thing.

I quit at about 11. And even then I was a Donald Duck/Scrooge McDuck fan, not a superheros fan. Do kids even read comic books any more? Not that I have noticed.
At least with Donald, if you preferred a female Duck there was always Daisy, or Grandma Duck. At least not in my childhood did they try to make Donald into a female or transgender and try to pass “ze” off as Donald Duck.
That seems like a particularly stupid idea.

My 9 year old likes some manga. Not any traditional superhero comics though.

Why would they? They were written in the 40s. Comics change as culture changes. Aren’t any mammies in cartoons these days either.
Also Kid Quick uses “they”, not “ze”.
Why? Queer non-bigoted comic book fans exist
Yes.

Because these are probably not in large enough quantities to maintain traditional comics. I’m not sure those are maintainable even using traditional standards.

It seems to me that comics these days are for the 22-38 demographic of kids. I kid you not, a former 31 year old male co-worker had 3 shelves in the corner of our office dedicated to little knick knacks/dolls of Dragon Ball Z, Transformers, Marvel, and DC characters that he received every month in something he subscribed to called Loot Box.
Whenever someone entered our office, if my co-worker was out, the first thing they would see were the shelves of dolls. They would glance at them and shake their heads in disgust and pity. Several of us called it his “never gonna get laid” corner.
Now, I could see adults reading graphic novels, but comic books? To each their own.
Marvel was already and now D.C. is adding LGBT characters, so clearly there’s a market. Also keep in mind that the youth these days are a lot more accepting of queer people so there is probably a decent amount of readers who may not be queer themselves but still don’t mind this as long as the stories and the characters are well written.
This whole thread is much to do about nothing because some YouTuber’s with bigoted opinions are all upset about comics that no one is forcing them to read.

Your coworkers are naive. “Geek culture” is more accepted now then it was when we were kids and the idea that geeks don’t get laid is outdated. Outdated enough that those who are having trouble getting some have their own term for themselves… incels.
People should not be shamed for their interests in popculture or subcultures.
This is a stupid rebuttal.
