Well.. I was going to fact check you on the Stanley Cup bit but it turns out you’re right - Seattle Metropolitans won the Stanley Cup the same year the tsarist Russia underwent the Red Revolution.

I didn’t even watch that. We’d gotten home late and paused the game to eat dinner, watched bad bunny and laughed. ![]()
Honest question: Was the game itself (not the show and the pageantry) the worst Super Bowl game in history? When the lead story is a record-breaking number of field goals…
Did the NFL learn anything last night? Aren’t they there to make a profit? I wonder how much money they potentially lost for their stupid halftime decision?
Defense wins championships.
Indeed. Defense does not win ratings battles, however ![]()
I’m sure the half time advertising revenue was crushed.
for the doubters who say i dont get anything right.
i give you example A.

I thought it was a pretty exciting game/strategy. Stop the pats, kick a field goal, stop them, field goal, stop, field goal…it became apparent that Seattle could win off a handful of field goals UNTIL New England scored. Then there was a slim chance of a comeback mounting. It would have been pretty awesome if they could have pulled within 5 on the drive Maye threw that first pick in the 4th.
That’s when the entire world knew the game was effectively over.
That’s a good analysis. Perhaps I’m being too harsh. I was also distracted by the fact that no one else I was watching with cared much about the game.
This wins as the absolute funniest thing I have read on the Internet today.

Oh…wait…you were being serious?
Then that makes your post even funnier!

there is no pretending. i picked the final score before the game.
there is no denying that.

Oh no there have been worse games.
Super Bowl V (known as the Blunder Bowl, with 11 combined turnovers and 14 combined penalties)
Super Bowl XLVIII (Seattle’s first Super Bowl win against Denver) was a yawner from the moment the first snap of the game went over Peyton Manning’s head.
Super Bowl XXXV- another yawner, the only exception being the back to back kickoff returns for TDs in the third quarter of the game.
The Steelers’ first Super Bowl win, Super Bowl IX against the Vikings, was a snoozefest. 2-0 halftime score (not kidding), mildly exciting at 9-6 with about 11 minutes left, until the Steelers went on a seven minute drive to seal the deal.
Just off the top of my head.
1917- in the days before the NHL.
Doubt anyone in Seattle even remembers that.

I thought it was a good game….Seattle’s defense might if they can keep this up be better than the Legion of Boom was…
They played smart, Drake Maye will be great but he was really confused…
I always enjoy the Super Bowl.
