The DOJ’s Inspector General Michael Horowitz confirmed Tuesday that his office is investigating whether anti-Trump FBI agent Peter Strzok impacted the agency’s decision to launch the year-long Russia probe.

Horowitz was speaking before the House Oversight and Judiciary Committee when he was asked whether Strzok’s private anti-Trump text messages to a fellow DOJ employee negatively impacted the decision to investigate Russian collusion.

The IG’s comments come just days after he released his scathing report; blasting senior DOJ and FBI officials for their “willingness” to engage in anti-Trump operations.
