Down the road, Floyd’s statue will be torn down by the virtuous that haven’t been born yet.

I would be fine with that. I tend to not support Democrats from the 1800’s
Cool! This would cover Nathan Bedford Forrest and Robert E Lee. When do we March?

This is not a question from the distant past.
No he didn’t. SYG laws had absolutely nothing to do with his case. He got off because the fight occurred for one reason and one reason only. Martin turned around and went back to fight him and THAT is proven fact.
-He followed Martin.
-He came to a fork in the sidewalk with two ways he could go.
-He choose the route Martin did not take because it was dark.
-He stayed on that wrong route for 6-7 minutes while on the phone with the dispatcher.
-He hung up with the dispatch and went back.
-The fight literally occurred right where the two sidewalks split that he had been on 7 minutes earlier.
-Had Martin been “just trying to get home” he would have been home long before the call with dispatch even ended.
-Martins girlfriend even testified that he said he was going back to look for the guy that had tried following him.
-Stand Your Ground only applies in situations where you have the ability to retreat. It doesn’t apply in situations where you are already pinned to the ground getting beat. Regular old “self defense” laws cover that.
Those are the facts.

…and disobeyed a direct order from the police operator, directing him to stay in the car and not get involved any further…PERIOD!

Police operators can’t give orders. Look it up.

Their orders aren’t legally binding but that doesn’t make any difference whether or not it was purposefully disobeyed and as a DIRECT result of that, Martin was shot by Zimmerman.

If they aren’t legally binding then it’s irrelevant he didn’t follow them.

Police “operators” don’t have the authority to give “direct orders”.

…and Martin is dead as a direct result of Zimmerman purposefully choosing to play cop.

Never voted for the guy.
I have no problem removing his statue.

A lot of the GOP voted against removing busts like Chief Justice Taney from the Rotunda.
Taney wrote the Dred Scott Decision which was part of the timeline that culminated in the Republican Party forming in the first place.
They don’t even known their own history

Maybe the problems is Z thinking that being head the neighborhood watch meant anything OTHER THAN “call 911 when there’s trouble.”
If we hadn’t already learned enough about Z before, basically everything he’s done since proves he wasn’t some honorable guy just out watching his neighborhood that night.
Martin died that night because a hothead with a gun went looking for trouble.
The National Archives calls it’s own building “racist”!
LOL Madness
Odd. Because to only person that testimony indicates was looking for trouble is the one that got shot.

Not odd. Z is a thug piece of ■■■■■ He went looking for trouble and got it. He killed a kid armed with snacks. All so a hothead wannabe vigilante could play hero.
You have it wrong. Two thugs went looking for trouble. And one was killed.
