Squad-member Rep. Ayanna Pressley called for the drastic restructuring of America’s criminal justice system Thursday; saying the country needs policies that promote “de-carceration” and “human dignity.”

“Our criminal INjustice system must prioritize early intervention, rehabilitation over incarceration & a clear pathway for formerly incarcerated individuals to reintegrate into society. These changes can only be achieved by working in partnership w/ community,” writes Pressley.
