It got rid of the redundancy. He combined the three separate space forces into one.
The air force didn’t own it. The Army, Airforce and Navy all had separate forces. They were just normaly at an AF base. He just combined them.

If I had a vote on this, I’d go with the Martian Congressional Republic uniforms. Those people are squared away.
It’s just baffling. All space nerds love Star Trek. They are actually agitating to have the Space Force ranks changed to the Navy ones so COs would be captains and not colonels.
