I barely remember it myself, but I know there were many fewer sources of “information”…between the nightly news and newspapers, which basically all said about the same thing about current events. People weren’t inculcated by a “news” network into believing everything Nixon had to say in his defense, unlike these days with Trump.

It was a time when eventually country was greater than party. Nowadays it’s Trump is greater than country.

Who cares? The decision to impeach was made 3 years ago. With or without evidence. It’s a done deal. To act as if the dems care about evidence is a joke. They will impeach, the senate will acquit and Trump will be running against Liz or Joe. Just get the silliness over with and move on

There was no rush for impeachment UNTIL this Ukraine quid pro quo came up.

I think it will come down to who the left puts up against the President. Biden or Buttigieg might beat him it’s very possible. Warren or Bernie could a tougher sell and no one knows how people will vote when faced with that decision.

Those two are not center to the left Obama candidates full of Charisma, in contrast the NYT’s and WaPo yesterday both are attacking Warrens plans on the healthcare industry saying it will severely hurt the economy, one of the writers was a former Obama advisor.

In retrospect Warren and Sanders are just a divisive as Trump in different ways and I am not sure how the battleground states would vote if either two are the nominee.
