According to the deputy the reporting party said that he had come out to his car that morning to see that someone had stuck between 200 and 300 post it notes on his car with “Trump 2020” handwritten on them.

The reporting party said he has a sign supporting Joe Biden in his yard and thinks it happened because of that.

Well I guess if people can swat MAGA hats off people’s heads, and deny them services in businesses because they are trump supporters . . . .

I’m still laughing at what I think the guys expression would have been as he walked out and saw his car covered in sticky notes, then his expression when he realized what they said.

Technically, it’s not even vandalism, as the link implies, because there was no property damage or loss.

Can someone go spray paint something on your house if it can be removed by a cleaner/ stripper? After all, no damage was done.

Post-It notes on a persons car isn’t any worse than TP’ing someone’s house. Funnier even.

Of course not. That would indeed be vandalism according to the statue.

Vandalism — called criminal mischief under Utah law — is the willful destruction or defacing of the property of another. It can be graded anywhere from a Class B misdemeanor for less than $500 in damage to a second-degree felony for more than $5,000.

Yeah, I thought vandalism at first too. But then I read post it notes. “post it notes” <> spray paint.

A moderate wind would blow them all off.

Which is about all this prank could rise to (because it wouldn’t be littering until it’s in the environment).

I’m just saying. If the owner of the vehicle doesn’t remove those post-it’s themself, then they will be guilty of littering.

Who is they? The car owner or the person that put the signs on the car? I hate…err… a friend of mine HATES advertisements put on their car while they’re out in public and just turns the wipers on to get rid of the advertisement while driving down the road.
