Presumably elections are where they make their voices heard.

Growing up in that part of the world, yes you’re right the whole State of Jefferson thing has been rattling around for a long time. There was even a Jefferson governor named at one point and it looked like it could have been possible, but then WWII broke out and everybody just kind of forgot about it. But you don’t have to go very far to find some grizzled old dude wearing a Jefferson hat.

The American west has long had its pockets of malcontents. One thing to consider is how many people are we talking here? Is there even 100K in those 7 counties? Then there’s the discussion of that entire region being dependent on the government; these aren’t the self sufficient types they would like to believe.

And then there’s the whole thing of what they’re producing just doesn’t make a lot of money. I don’t put much into it except the grumblings from that region going back before when Teddy Roosevelt turned it all into a wildlife preserve because the residents were making the bird population extinct over bird feathers.

Any legality of cities seceding to Canada?

No, the odds are not good. We don’t want them.

Not going to happen. The people do not want it.

You might want to review the history of the establishment of State boundaries before committing yourself.

Yes. What’s your point?

Morality has nothing to do with it.

There is a big difference. Idaho is not governed by Libs.

Where do you even read comments like that? Between the thousands of San Francisco and NYC hate threads, tasteless jokes about posioned anthills, and civil war fantasies of killing cityfolk…

Here. Daily.

You’re right…it doesn’t.

That’s what I said.

Please stop pretending today’s right wants to live and let live.

When they get power, they use it to dominate as well.

Like they are doing where I live.

The conservatives in Oregon aren’t experiencing a unique problem but they are looking at an extreme solution.

Move to Idaho. Easy solution.

If the mountain…

Oregon boundaries haven’t changed since they became a state in 1859.

No you didn’t. You said that there is no moral high ground. That implies that the morals of both sides are equal, not that morality doesn’t apply.

And I’m not pretending anything. The question was, that if they don’t like Oregon why don’t they move to Idaho. My reply directly addressed that question.

Where did I say anything about their situation being unique? I am responding directly to the OP topic, whereas some of you are expanding the topic nationwide.

Which gets me right back to my first response in this thread … They like where they live. They just don’t like being dictated to by the I5 Liberals.

If you don’t like my response you can either just ignore it or move to another Forum. Easy solution.

I didn’t say they have. But many States in this country cannot make that claim. If Oregon and Idaho changed their respective borders, it would not be the first time.
