The continent couldn’t have two completely opposed cultures both desiring Manifest Destiny. There had to be a showdown and someone had to be consigned to the dust bin of history. The founders couldn’t settle it in 1789. So it just festered for decades until the valve finally bursted. And the South lost big time.

Not to long ago, all the chatter on here was about TX seceding.
No state is going to secede and no the US is not going to be balkanized or split into two halves.
