Unfortunately, that is just one leftist Democrat having a tizzy fit after their policies of open borders and wokeness were rejected in the election. They couldn’t be removed with the largest lever in the universe. Alas.
What I find to be funny is that, even if successful, the process would likely take longer than Trump’s term in office. Once Trump leaves, what happens if it is replaced with a more favorable administration? Would they then expect to come back? Would they then repeat the process when another hostile administration takes office?
What about Canadian politics? Would they expect to come back to the U.S. at the first sign of trouble?
Obviously, none of that will happen. But it sure makes for good entertainment.
Years ago there was a small call for secession in Vermont. I was then, as now, an advocate for letting them peacefully, go their own way. My outlook on secession and political self determination has not changed. The thirteen colonies separated from England. If Quebec wants to become sovereign, more power to them. The southern states were crushed in their attempt to do the same. The Czechs and Slovaks were able to amicably separate, what is the rational argument for forcing people to remain in a relationship that they feel does not best represent their needs.
