You wouldn’t expect honesty from them would you? After all they are telling it’s for our own safety… .

I can’t see anything that would be better to cause a huge pro gun/pro 2nd Amendment, republican turnout in November that for these anti gun states to go whole hog pushing and passing draconian gun laws this year.

By all means I hope it snowballs.

Which words in the second amendment gives the secret service the authority to violate a USA citizen’s 2A rights?

Are you stating or implying that the 2A is not absolute?

And you would be completely wrong in that assertion.

The secret service does not violate our 2nd Amendment rights.

Who is “The People”?

Nope. You have clearly demonstrated now and many times before that I am completely right … Australia is a left-leaning country.

Your jaundiced view of Australia is not correct; it never was correct to call Australia a left leaning country and it will never be correct.

Jaundiced view? Don’t be silly, it’s not a criticism per say, it’s just a fact.

It can only be described as an alternate fact: more commonly known as not true

I’m sorry that you can’t see it, but I totally understand. As I said, from your perspective leftism is normal. That’s why you cannot recognize how far to the left Australia leans. There, even most of the conservatives are left leaning.

Hmm, maybe that didn’t come across right.

I was trying to ask if he ever tours the Virginia statehouse would feel it necessary to have a gun with him.

The question is actually quite irrelevant since a) I wasn’t talking about the statehouse law and b) it’s bad logic to assume it’s OK to pass a law just because it wouldn’t affect me personally.

But again…as with the 1A discussion in the Canada free speech thread, this argument is destined to go on interminably because it’s an argument over to what degree no prior restraint should take precedence.

Those who feel it should always take precedence when it comes to rights will argue that one should be free to take his weapon into the statehouse…those who don’t will think that’s a bad idea.

And it will be difficult if not impossible to reconcile those two viewpoints.

So you’re an extremist?

Absolutely, unequivocally and unambiguously no I am not.

Soft target!

So just a radical then, if you’re saying Australia doesn’t reflect your own extreme politics.

I am not a radical nor do I have extreme politics. I have been tolerant to the two posts which I consider to be against the ToS of this site.

Are you reflective of Australian politics?

“Necessary” doesn’t even figure into the equation.

If you feel like you “need” a gun to go someplace you shouldn’t be going there to start with.

As a rule, you don’t go anywhere with a gun you wouldn’t feel comfortable going without one.
