Pundits.
Senators.
Congresspeople.
Political operatives.
Now…they are being a little more “free” with what they say over there…while many of them clamp down their accounts with a “private” label to avoid being seen.
So in a way…SELF-censorship…lol.

I’m sure their followers are doing the same thing.

Facebook is mostly about showing family pictures and advertising for small businesses.
Twitter is best suited for teenage girls.
If not for news reports, the President’s tweets, and such I would not know that either was used for political purposes. Mostly you read about tweets when someone says something politically outrageous…which is of course the Presidents forte.
The only reason I have an unused facebook page is to connect for Messenger for Kids for my kids and for signing in to things. Otherwise it is empty.
Yup, FB is pretty much what you make of it
Damn! I get one or two spam or phishing emails a WEEK.
That guy seems to have shaken some things loose.
This afternoon WSJ reports the Mercer family funds Parler, and now Rebekah Mercer confirms and adds she is a founder.
So the family that’s been funding and promoting the fuss over social media also happened to be hiding their ownership of a new competitor until today.

In what sense were they hiding it? In that you didn’t know about it?
Maybe you missed the link. This was certainly news to the Wall Street Journal which is heralding its exclusive reporting of the revelation.
It’s quite the news really. The Mercers fund Brietbart. The Mercers fund Project Veritas, etc… They also just happened to quietly own the social media company that is positioned to benefit from all the fuss that they’ve focused on creating.

In other words, they are funding one more conservative outlet.
Sounds like what good conservatives with a lot of money would do.
But lets try to make it sound nefarious.
I think this is going to be a bigger deal than you’re realizing.
I find it interesting Rupert’s premier outlet reported on this first. I imagine after hearing the name Parler repeated on his network so much lately he was also curious as to who what and how was behind it.
Ding ding ding give that man a ceeeegar!
I will probably give Parlor a look myself. Have drifted away from Fox as well except for our esteemed host, Carlson, and Dobbs.
Stirewalt and company can take a hike.
All i’ve ever used FB for is for seeing pictures of family now and then.
If I want a political discussion i come here and talk to fellow conservatives.

I tried to open an account there about a week ago, but there was a glitch in the captcha and I couldn’t get past it. Today I read where the bug was fixed so I tried again. Now I can’t open the account because since my phone number was used to start the process, Parler is saying that my phone # is in use. So, that, as they say, is that.
I’ve been a web developer for 25 years and I can tell you right now Facebook is evil. I do not have any legitimate accounts on any of these platforms. The amount of misinformation that gets passed around on these platforms is astounding. From both sides of the aisle. Think about for a minute. Facebook is valued at close to a $1,000,000,000 and they don’t sell a single product. The ONLY thing they sell is the information they are able to gather on the people foolish enough to give it to them.

Information is one of the most valuable commodities…
It would appear that you now have an account.

Of the 5 people in my family, 3 have deleted their FB accounts, 2 have deactivated their FB accounts. Only 2 have Twitter. 4 have Instagram. This week, 2 signed up for Parler.
I did some checking around, and found that a lot of people are signing on to Parler (I posted about this in another heading) and also migrating to Minds, MeWe and Mastodon, also looking into an e-mail site called Proton Mail.
