If people were smart, we’d be collectively asking how we ended up choosing between Trump and Clinton or Trump and Biden in the first place. Neither party can put up better candidates? Maybe it’s time to get some new parties. Or just get rid of them altogether.

Revamping the POTUS election process is overdue. It should be shortened (which I know would be difficult) as a few states have way too much control in the early primary processes. I am not sure of the solution, but the way we do it now, it pretty stupid.

All you have to do, is be capable of doing some math? Can you? What was the net worth of a politician entering office? How much were they honestly paid along the way? What is their net worth when they leave office? When you are capable of grasping this concept, you’ll understand better what I’ve said.

You do have to separate the pols and the bureaucrats. Bureaucrats do not make great money. they do well, good benefits and pension, but they do not get rich.

Pols that use their position to un-ethically line own pockets should bot be acceptable.

That can be fixed. Isn’t this something those on the Left and Right can agree on, and demand?

If a pol is in office for a while, and becomes more of a public figure, and can give speeches on their own time for a fee, or wrote a book that sold well…that is fine.

A total of one year would be OK. More than half of what it is now.

6 months to campaign to be the party nominee (utilizing rank choice voting process)
6 months to campaign for POTUS.

Ideally, minimal private funding. All nominees get the same amount to spend on campaigns.

I pointed out what I do agree with and gave my reasoning behind it, of which…even that was to difficult for you to follow? Obviously we do not agree and what I conclude is, you’re a very nice, naive individual who holds themselves to a high standard, that believes others automatically do too? They don’t. The premise that politicians get rich by being politicians is not reflected in reality.

Most politicians are very wealthy long before they enter office. Very few become wealthy during their terms.
