I can see immigration legislation being implemented by February.

If Biden is still on the ballot Trump wins. Democrats who can’t in good conscience vote for Biden won’t switch to Trump, but enough of them will just stay home to hurt Democrats down the ballot.

I have said for a while that Trump is going to win in November and after last nights debacle I am even more convinced of that.
The only two options the dems have is to replace Biden or go on the offensive with Biden. Have him lean into being old and how he might not be a great debater anymore or the most sprightly person but he can do the job. Get Biden in front of some friendly late comedians, have cameras follow him round the WH.
But the dems will waste the next several weeks running round like headless chickens and making no decisions.
Real power behind Biden is sticking with him. The media needs to step up their game.

I think the importance of debates is overblown. Does this doom Biden and give Trump the election? Naw. We’re still 4+ months away from the election. The power of the “Biden sucked at that debate” talking point will dissipate. One day out, this is the worst possible thing that could happen to Biden. Four months from now there will be 10+ other stories that will dilute the importance of the debates.

I’m not getting carried away. Most people are set in Biden or Trump. Remember when Trump was through when he was found guilty? Or when he talked about them letting you? Or when Fetterman flubbed his debate?
Not to say that, when they were running so close that this isn’t the deciding factor.

Democrats keeping the Senate is very improbable, statistically speaking. They’d probably need to flip FL or TX (Rubio and Cruz) for that to happen.
So this is a typical response i expected, from a lib. Completely delusional. If a democrat voter still votes for biden without thinking about how horrible biden performed, thats delusional thinking. Biden has proven what we all have been saying, he is a senile old man.

This is a great point. If Trump maintains support after his conviction, why is it so crazy to think Biden maintains support after a bad debate performance?
Why is the act of sticking with Trump seen as virtuous and sticking with Biden delusional?

Before debate leaning towards voting Biden 80/20, after debate 80/20 but with more of an annoyed frown.
Trump lying about everything does not move me towards voting for him.

Well I would definitely cancel all future debates that’s for sure it’s not worth the train wreck risk. The only way he’s leaving is if he does on his own they waited to long to get rid of him. The virtual convention is in three weeks.
Unless he drops out, which I highly doubt this late in the game, they’re gonna have to try their best to downplay it not that it will work, but they really are out of time for options. I definitely wouldn’t do another debate, It’s not worth that chance of optics imagine two of those in a row.

Look this debate will be played over and over. Even your side has conceded this wasnt good. Trump showed 2 things last night. He showed he can refrain himself and he respomded intelligently. And all he had to do was exceed biden which he did.
