Nah, she’s fine. She will do a good job. Life will go on, and so will our country. And maybe the GOP will get its head out of its backside and go back to being a viable Conservative counterpoint to the Dems, a party that believes in rule of law, family values and fiscal responsibility. Because, right now, that party is nowhere to be seen.

They’ve evolved past that and are never coming back.

And frankly after these past years, I’m not going to join the “we need a sane GOP crowd” no way no how.

They’re still there. I have faith. It’s just a bad time right now. They will get their act together.

Have you read much of Project 2025? It was around for a while before the Democrats started to use it as a cudgel. I had no idea that it would be a flashpoint because 1) it seems like the granular version of stuff that Republicans have already said they want to do (but with training videos) and 2) Trump explicitly cited it as a blueprint for his next administration. But it’s a deeply authoritarian program (Hey, guess what they want to do with executive power!), even at the level of its tone.

It is quite the blueprint, isn’t it? Terrifying stuff. Yeah, I have given it a once over and what is proposed goes against everything we hold dear as a nation. And Trump would absolutely love implementing it.

Me: I’ve been reading and responding to right wingers on this forum for over twent . . . uh, let’s just say a long time. I sought it out to learn more about Republican perspectives after I (an ex-Republican) struggled to figure out why the conservatives in my life had changed, especially regarding the Iraq war. Hey, maybe I’m missing something.
